Where have we been?

Wow, has it been that long since I've shared Rosy news?  Lots has been happening - we had a lovely (warm & fuzzy) crochet class a few Friday night's ago, followed by a very full & successful cushion cover class on the Saturday.

 

I've taken a couple of weeks off, with family visiting and...a girl's weekend tomorrow at Noosa - yee hah!  Sure to be lots of laughs x

I'll be back at Rosy's on Saturday 10th for our June quilting class - can't wait to see the fabric choices for the next stunning quilts.

Rosy Tip: Sewing Straight

Very, very important when sewing - it to make sure you're sewing straight!

To help, each sewing machine has guidelines on the sewing plate (measured in both centimetres & inches) - when you line up the raw edge of your fabric with one of these lines, you'll be sure to sew straight!

Rosy Sewing Tip: New Pins

When purchasing pins it's worth paying a little extra for quality (sharp) ones. If you find your new pins aren't sliding easily into your fabric, run them through your hair - the oil in your hair (not saying you have oily hair!!) will make it much easier to slide the pins through your fabric. This tip is thanks to Deb - one of Rosy's regular sewers xx

Happy Easter!!
Rosy is so looking forward to a Family Easter...or ‘Family Feaster’ of indulgence with family, friends and great food – oh and of course an abundance of chocolate.
A couple of planned dishes for the menu:
* Chocolate Pav
* Roast pork slowly cooked on the spit
* Prawn and avocado salad
* Lindt chocolate (carefully hidden from the kids)!

Then to fit in some sewing – I have quite a few projects on the go – can’t help it, I just keep finding new inspiring things to make.

So for checklist I want to complete:

* Knitted, plaited scarf
* Knitting samples for upcoming Oh Sew Rosy Learn to Knit Class
* Amy Butler Honey Bun Pouf
* Apron
* Pyjamas with Rosy Screen-printed Tops

Hmmm...not sure how much I’ll get through – I’ll get back to you on that after Easter!

Rosy Sewing Tip: Rosy Sewing Tip: Pattern Notches - very very handy! When you're cutting out your pattern and you come to the little triangle, cut the triangle outwards (this way you don't cut into your seam allowance). The notch will ensure that you're spot on when matching your pattern pieces! If you forget to cut the triangle (happens a lot), go back and mark it with tailor's chalk. x Anyone have any sewing technique questions? Msg me at Rosy's & I'll get back to you with a solution x
